Pension Plan for Journalists

Respected Madam/Sir:
Recently, I received an email regarding PM's upcoming "Mann Ki Baat" on
March 27. Prior to this special event, I felt the need to reach out to
your team to find out whether the government could look into a fully
functional and comprehensive pension plan for Journalists in the country.
To
elaborate further, in order for this country's democracy to come to
full fruition, it is important to have a balanced and unbiased journalism instead of constant news that we hear about the sad plight of some journalists (please see attached). I am neither a journalist nor directly involved with a journalism
based organization. Then, you might think why am I reaching out to you?
Recently, I went to the house of a person who has served several
decades as a journalist capturing various
intricate topics all over the world, and found out that there is no
comprehensive pension plan for him. Having a thorough pension plan for journalists,
which tends to be one of the riskier professions especially for those
who would like to get into the depth and the truth of the matter, coming
directly from the center would not only secure their post-retirement
lives, but also would showcase the importance of this profession to this
country. Your timely positive action in this regard would be greatly
appreciated.
